#Project14Lists | Day 5: Top 10 Backlist Books I Want to Read in 2019

It is now day 5 (this is a late post LOL) of #Project14Lists, a blogging event organized by Shealea of That Bookshelf Bitch. Basically, we have to publish a list of a topic of our choice for fourteen days from December 18th to December 31st. If you’re interested in joining this project or you just want to know more about it, check out Shealea’s post.

Wow, I have been consistent of posting these lists. I deserve a pat on the back. !!! I SPOKE TOO SOON !!! Today, I talk about the backlist books I want to read the most in 2019. This will not be a long list but don’t let me keep you long so let’s get started.

10. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

The Alchemist is that book which has been on my TBR since forever. My sister has a physical copy I can read anytime but you know how the saying goes,

So many books, so little time.

Next year, for sure, I will be picking up this book. I’d love to read Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho as well.

9. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

The Name of the Wind is almost always one of the top recommendations in the fantasy book recommendations video I watch on youtube. I have a physical copy and I’m excited to dive into it in 2019!

8. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

I haven’t read the Harry Potter series EVER and it’s a well-loved series by almost everyone. I love the movie series but I believ reading the books will be another fun experience.

7. Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami

Any Murakami book, really, but I’m mostly looking forward to reading Sputnik Sweetheart. My older sister likes Murakami and she has several of his books so the only thing stopping me is from reading them is my willpower, basically.

6. The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK! I didn’t know Rin Chupeco was Filipino until I followed her on Twitter. This was recommended to me by Kai A. and I told her I’d read it soon but I still haven’t picked it up. The third book is coming out in 2019 so it’s the perfect time to binge it.

5. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I love emotional books and I have always wanted to read Hosseini’s books. I was told they’re very emotional so I’ll definitely get that. I’d love to read A Thousand Splendid Suns by him as well.

4. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

I am currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring for a buddy read but I want to finish the entire series next year (hopefully).

3. The Queen’s Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner

There were several book sale events during the second half of 2018 by National bookstore, one of the leading bookstores here in the Philippines, and I was able to get a copy of A Conspiracy of Kings, the fourth book in the Queen’s Thief series. I’ve always wanted to start this series as well but I’ll probably read the first three books on Scribd or something.

2. The Stormlight Archive Series by Brandon Sanderson

Several of the booktubers I follow who mainly read fantasy have the Stormlight Archive series in their favorites list. I am a Sanderson fan as well but I haven’t started this yet. It’s planned to be a ten-book series and only three books are out now. They are HUGE!! The books are over a thousand pages EACH. I can’t wait to read them!

1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The Book Thief has been on my TBR for a loooong time now as well and I want to finally, finally read it in 2019.

I really want to read these books so hopefully I can get to them SOON.
